A group of Year 9 girls enjoyed a fantastic day with Niftylift, taking part in a range of activities across the company to inspire and inform about the wealth of different job roles available in design and engineering.

The students created switches using CAD and learnt how AI is used all around us every day. The girls showed their competitive natures in the Pit Stop Challenge, where they had to secure F1 tyres against the clock. Alex took first prize with an impressive 1:12 time!

Everyone experimented with using a range of tools from the shadow board, which we also saw in action on the factory floor. All the students had a chance to test the joystick functions to operate the HR12 electric cherry picker and also complete buzzer circuits.

They learnt about supply chains from the purchasing department, and the icing on the cake was a ride in the cherry pickers at the end of the day! We are so grateful to Niftylift for hosting such a brilliant day and the girls came back so enthused about future careers.
