At Thornton College we have a range of accommodation for various age groups in two main boarding Houses; Barton and Chastillon. For the majority of students, boarding is upstairs in our Manor House in large bedrooms with stunning views, lots of space, high ceilings and natural light.
Accommodation for girls in Year 13 is in The Villa, a beautiful detached house located in the school grounds.

Harris, Tyrellcote and Warrington wings are all in Barton House, our main Manor building and offer a range of large bedrooms, stunning views, lots of space, high ceilings and natural light.
All girls have access to wash basins in their bedrooms and there are also plenty of bathroom and shower facilities close by.
Girls in Year 10 have single beds in twin bedrooms with wash basins, on either Harris or Warrington wings. The rooms are warm and cosy and beautifully decorated.
Girls in Year 8 and Year 9 sleep in bedrooms of six to eight children in Tyrellcote Wing. All the rooms have beautiful views, lots of windows and high ceilings.
Whittlebury Wing is located above our Dining Hall and offers single study bedrooms for students in Years 11 and 12. There are plenty of showers and a bathroom. In addition, the girls have access to a small kitchen to make hot drinks and snacks such as tea and toast!
The individual study rooms provide each girl with a cupboard, storage, bed, study desk and wash basin. All rooms have windows with views, lots of natural light and are centrally located in the school for all facilities. The girls just go downstairs for breakfast and dinner.
A villa, located within the school’s beautiful estate was converted into a new boarding house for Year 13 students. This development opened in September 2020.
Each Year 13 student has her own bedroom, with a single bed, cupboards and a study desk. There is also a communal kitchen and washing machine.
A House Mistress stays with the Year 13s and is on hand if needed. Essentially, girls in Year 13 learn how to be more independent and live with others before they take their next steps into University accommodation
The Parlour Wing is hornton’s newest boarding facility, (opened in September 2022), located in the main Manor House. Parlour Wing provides additional accommodation for girls from Year 6 through to Year 9.
