Inspection Reports and Accreditation

In May 2025 the Buckinghamshire Council Early Years Service visited our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) provision. The visit report is available to read below.

In March 2025 The National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) named Thornton the 497th school to be accredited with the NACE Challenge Award. The award is given in recognition of school-wide commitment to high-quality provision for more able learners, within the context of challenge for all. The full report is available to read below.

In May 2024 Thornton College was Inspected by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate and was given a ‘1’ Outstanding in all areas – the highest possible rating.  To read the full inspection report please click on the link below:

In October 2022, the Independent Schools Inspectorate, (ISI), completed a full school Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection.  Thornton College has been awarded Excellent, the highest possible judgement in both Education Quality outcomes and has met and is compliant in all areas.  Please download the document below to access and read the full report

In February 2020 we had a Catholic Diocese of Northampton Interim Monitoring Visit (IMV).  The conclusion report found Thornton College Outstanding in all areas.  This report can be found here:

The ISI conducted a Regulatory Compliance Inspection in February 2019.  All required standards were met, with the full report available below.

Thornton had an inspection report by the Northampton Diocese – called a Section 48 Inspection.  This looks at the teaching of RE across the school.  This inspection took place  between 28th February 2017 and 1st March 2017.  The School was graded ‘1’, which is ‘Outstanding’ in every area.  To view this report in full, please click the link below.

EARLY YEARS STAY AND PLAY - TUESDAY 17th JUNE

Come along with your daughter to experience what Thornton has to offer.

You are welcome to join us as families from 9:30 am – 11:30 am. Younger or pre-school age siblings are very welcome too!

Join in the fun at various activity stations; music, forest school in our eco park and inside our Early Years classroom!

There will be an opportunity to meet staff during the morning.
