Old Thorntonians Association

The Old Thorntonians are the Association for former students, alumni, of Thornton College. We are still in touch with over 1,500 former pupils and we hold reunion events each year.

How to get involved

We have active engagement online via Facebook and our Thornton College Alumni Group on LinkedIn.  We are looking to develop a platform portal for all Old Thorntonians to connect, network and access online archives.  This is a development project for the school for 2022 – 2023.  If you would like to fund this work or get involved with Alumni Careers Networking / Mentoring please do contact our Development Director, Mrs Jennifer Walker, via email JWalker@thorntoncollege.com.

Funding Opportunities

If you are interested in sponsoring or making a donation to Thornton College or perhaps considering leaving a Legacy please contact JWalker@thorntoncollege.com for further information.  There are lots of ways to support Thornton College and we are always keen to stay in touch and work with former students.

The Association relies on donations from Old Thorntonians to pay for the organisation of events. A Life Subscription offers the most cost effective membership at just £100. Annual Subscriptions are available from £10.

Traditional Fete and Fun Dog Show

After a gap of two years… The Thornton College Fete and Fun Dog Show is BACK!!
Kindly organised by the Friends of Thornton, the fete is taking place on Sunday 3rd July (12:30pm – 4:00pm). Make a note in your diary.
More details to follow.

Alumnae Ambassadors

We are particularly keen to hear from former students who live in different regions of the world as we would like volunteers to be our Alumnae Ambassadors in their countries to organise and host alumni events.  If you are interested in finding out more please contact Mrs Jennifer Walker via email, JWalker@thorntoncollege.com.

Visiting Thornton College

If you ever want to call in to school to see us you will be very welcome.  Please do telephone in advance however, as due to strict child protection rules, all adults on site must have an enhanced DBS check or be with a member of school staff.  We do hold special events for former students however and, if you call in advance, we would be very happy to show you around.

The Old Thorntonians Association Committee

Mrs Jane Holliday (Haseldine 1985) is the Chair of this Committee and also Thornton College Receptionist!  Jane manages all alumni communication and events.

We love hearing from all our former students – you are always members of the Thornton Family.  You can email all news update our records with your new address or indeed new name, or ask any questions by emailing Jane Holliday.

Thank you to everyone who has returned the ‘contact update form’ sent out to all OTA on our database.
