As Year 11s begin their next module in PHSE, with a focus on Next Steps, we were delighted to welcome old girl Saffi Breakwell, a former Deputy Head Girl, to share her experiences. Saffi joined Thornton for Sixth Form, from The Royal Latin School in Buckingham and emphasised that she always felt valued and listened to. Her sixth form experience was overwhelmingly positive as she felt the benefits of seminar style teaching that Thornton offers prepared her well for university and that all students were given individual support and care to help them find a pathway that was right for each of them.
Saffi is in her third year of studying English at Birmingham University and gave some excellent tips on how to select (and survive!) accommodation, budgeting and the wide range of university clubs available. Year 11s will be exploring all the options open to them over the next few weeks, but we are grateful to Saffi for providing a wonderful springboard for the unit.
