Alumni Careers Event

CAREERS Events

We consider ourselves so lucky to have amazing old girls, who gave up their time to deliver a series of talks about their pathways at our event this week via Zoom.

It was fascinating to hear how their careers have taken twists and turns and how, for many of them, the apprenticeship route has been a brilliant alternative to university.

Our five speakers had varied roles in different fields, including occupational therapy, pilot simulation, rural surveying, business, sales and human resources. A common theme was the importance of developing organisational skills, teamwork and resilience. Building a strong portfolio of these soft skills is something we strive for at Thornton and it was inspirational to see our past pupils evidencing them.

This is our second Alumni Careers Event and we look forward to next year, hopefully welcoming old girls back to Thornton in person!
