Budding lawyers from Year 11 and 12 took part in a fantastic LawFest Event, hosted by Buckingham University.
Leading firms such as Travers Smith, Dantons, Machins, Shoosmiths and SE Solicitors hosted talks and were available to talk to students individually to answer questions about opportunities for school leavers and graduates. In addition, the Head of Legal Services at Milton Keynes Council showcased the wide range of varied work that lawyers undertake for them, including the chance to work in Brussels.
Charlie Rogers from Travers Smith led an activity on Branding and Communication, where we had to identify our individual styles from four categories: Driver, Analytic, Expressive and Amiable. He shared how to use this information when applying for jobs and also when interacting with other people in the workplace. It was an excellent event, and all the students who took part found it inspiring and came away with lots of tips about the different pathways available and how to access them.
