NHS Careers – Patient Experience

Posted: 11th November 2024

Our Sixth Form Health and Social Care students welcomed Julie Goodman, Head of Patient and Family Experience at Milton Keynes Hospital, to talk to them about her department and different roles within the NHS.

Julie has created several new initiatives to improve patient experience, a recent one being the introduction of a resource of clothes on every ward for patients to travel home in. Some patients were previously discharged in their hospital gown but now, due to links with retail companies in Milton Keynes and donations, they are able to access appropriate clothes. Julie was able to reinforce learning for our students as she explained about equality, diversity and inclusion within the NHS setting. Several of our Year 13 students were interested to learn more apprenticeships and the different ways to access them.

We are very grateful to Julie for her ongoing support and sharing her advice and expertise.
