Students from Years 11 and 12 attended the excellent annual Law Fest at Buckingham University. Participating law organisations included Travers Smith, Dentons, Shoosmiths, Machins, BP Collins and MK City Council. Alongside listening to introductory speakers from each company, students took part in break out sessions where they learnt more about pathways into the profession, including the highly competitive Solicitor Apprenticeship Scheme, and the relatively new Solicitors Qualifying Exam. There was an opportunity to network informally with delegates at law stalls, and ask further questions about roles and different company cultures.
