Default News

Old Thorntonian Heather Barcombe shared her journey at our Spotlight Careers slot this week.

Heather works for Johnson and Johnson, having studied Biochemistry at Warwick University. She knew she wanted a career in science, making a difference to people’s lives.

Heather highlighted the many other degree options that facilitate pathways in science roles, including BioMedical Sciences, BioMedical Engineering and Biological Sciences. Despite Medicine being suggested to her, she didn’t want to be a doctor.

She now leads External Innovation for Johnson and Johnson Consumer Health in Europe, Middle East and Africa, where she creates collaborations with start-ups developing novel consumer health solutions.

We are so grateful to Heather for talking to us and showcasing the fantastic different careers available to students who enjoy Biology and Chemistry.
