We are hugely grateful to Alison Georgakis from Grupo Bimbo UK for delivering a fantastic careers talk on Business and Food Manufacturing.
Not only did Alison touch on all the different functions within the business, she also passed on some great tips from her role in recruitment. Two recent graduates, Jasper and Ellie, told us about their experiences at school, university and securing their first job, and underlined how important it is to be resilient and persistent when applying for different roles.
Grupo Bimbo UK are the largest bakery company in the world, operating over 200 manufacturing sites across 33 countries and market over 100 brands.
This was an invaluable experience for our business students to learn more about the day to day roles of the graduates. All three speakers emphasised the importance of work experience in terms of building skills and a robust c/v, which very much reinforces our careers’ advice at Thornton.
