Olivia

We were delighted to welcome parents to join us for this week’s Spotlight Talk, delivered by actor Olivia Vinall. Her work on television includes The Woman in White with Jessie Buckley and Dougray Scott on BBC1, Queens of Mystery with Julie Graham on Channel 5 and Apple Tree Yard with Emily Watson and Ben Chaplin on BBC1.

Olivia has also appeared at The National Theatre in London as Desdemona in Othello alongside Adrian Lester and Rory Kinnear, as Cordelia in King Lear, alongside Simon Russell Beale and Papaa Essiedu and the acclaimed Young Chekhov Trilogy, being nominated for a UK Theatre Award for her performance in The Seagull. It was fantastic for our students to hear first hand about life as an actor, how to secure an agent and the different pathways available into the industry.

Olivia studied Drama at university, selecting a degree course with an emphasis on performance, but stressed that there is no ‘right’ path into acting. Many of her contemporaries moved into working behind the camera in film and television. It was a privilege to listen to Olivia’s journey and we look forward to watching her in her next project!

There’s more information about Olivia on her agent’s website HERE.
