On Tuesday 3rd February we hosted our eleventh STEM Event and as always, the buzz was fantastic! Students from Years 5-13 had the opportunity to be inspired by a huge number of different job roles. They had used PHSE lesson time to undertake research and work in groups to prepare questions.
Companies including Leading Aviation who regularly visit a number of prestigious schools, praised our students on the brilliant questions they asked and said they were of a notably higher level than at other school events they attend!
We have built strong links with organisations over the years, including Volkswagen, the Army, Hollis, Aiimi and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Graduates and Degree Level Apprentices attended from Network Rail and gave our students a clear vision of the different pathways they offer. We have two other events planned with the business this term and feel lucky to have such amazing support from a highly regarded national company on our doorstep.
Students of all ages really enjoyed hearing about Engineering Photonics from a PhD student at Cranfield University, who will speak in more depth at a Spotlight Talk later in the year.
