A group of Year 11 and 12 students attended a fantastic LawFest hosted by Buckingham University. Prestigious law firms such as Dentons, Pictons, EMW, Osborne Morris and Morgan, Travers Smith and Machins were in attendance.
Speakers were from different specialist areas including Property Litigation, Corporate, Family and Commercial. Milton Keynes Council also took part and emphasised the benefits of training with a firm or local authority where you can gain experience in a breadth of different practices and have the opportunity to have close relationships with the clients you work with. Professionals acknowledged the challenge of students gaining face to face work experience but shared different ways to evidence your passion for Law. This includes podcasts, webinars and networking.
Our Year 12s are given extensive support for building their super curricular evidence for applications and next week will take part in their first networking event on Tuesday evening, giving them the opportunity to build important skills and find out more about different job roles.
