This week we welcomed a team from Bedford Hospital who delivered workshops and a careers information event to students from across the Prep and Senior School.
In the morning Years 5 and 6 were treated to an interactive workshop with clinicians including Physiotherapists, Mental Health and Wellbeing Officers and Nurses. They looked at medical equipment and PPE and even tried on glasses which simulate various eye disorders.
The students had a huge number of questions and really engaged with the session, and the NHS team commented that they had “never spoken to such a well behaved and focused group”. Across lunchtime and early afternoon, Senior Students had the opportunity to find out more about the wide ranging jobs available in the NHS, Apprenticeships and also the fantastic Bedford Health and Care Academy.
Many of our students complete this programme which is excellent evidence for UCAS Personal Statements and job applications.
