Elen Roberts, a Construction Lawyer from the London Office of Pinsent Masons, has featured on several podcasts and websites, including Creative Multilingualism and Adventures on the Bookshelf, and we were delighted that she presented the recent Spotlight Careers talk.
Elen studied French and German at Oxford and spoke at length about the benefits of being a linguist. Not only did this make her stand out from other candidates when applying for jobs, but Elen said it had also opened up opportunities for her in the workplace. The different cultural experiences offered as part of her modern languages degree enabled her to develop a greater understanding of how people function and is a skill that would be useful in any job sector.
