Thornton's Equestrian Team had fantastic day at the NSEA County Show Jumping Qualifiers last weekend.![]()

Grace B-L, Clemmie O, Imogen B, Charlotte H, Sasha K and Freya C represented Thornton, competing against riders from schools in Bucks, Beds, Herts and Northants. All our riders approached the competition with dedication and commitment, showed great support for each other and an excellent team spirit. ![]()

We had fantastic results in the 90cm, where Imogen, Charlotte, Sasha and Freya made up the Thornton Team. They were overall winners of the team competition and were crowned Bucks County Champions. Freya was placed 5th individually and Imogen beat 53 other riders to win the class and become the individual County Champion. This is an outstanding achievement as she was the only Prep School pupil to be competing at this level. Freya then went on to come 3rd overall in the competitive 1m class and as the best rider from Bucks become the individual County Champion for 1m too. ![]()

The NSEA national championships take place at Hickstead in May, so we have now qualified for the show-jumping, alongside our previous qualifications in dressage and arena eventing. It’s going to be a busy weekend for the Thornton Equestrian Team but it will be fantastic to have the opportunity to compete against schools from across the country.
