Mrs Barnes is creating a fantastic display of photographs outside the entrance to the library.

The photos show prep and pre-prep girls with books they received as Christmas presents.

There is certainly no sign of David Walliams’ popularity waning, with several photos of girls holding ‘Bad Dad’ and ‘Awful Auntie’, to name just two of his works. Miranda Hart’s ‘The Girl with the Lost Smile’ was a popular choice too. Of course it comes as no surprise that Roald Dahl’s classics are as fashionable as ever.

Copies of ‘Blue Planet II’ written by James Honeyborne and Mark Brownlow, Major Tim Peake’s autobiography ‘Hello is this Planet Earth?’ and ‘How to Build a Universe’ by Prof Brian Cox and Robin Ince were amongst the titles too.

Developing a love of reading from an early age is one of our many aims for the girls.  It enables them to access and relish a huge range of fascinating books - there were a few in the bounty of presents this year!

The display continues to grow and it will be really interesting to see who has been reading what when it has been completed.
