Academic Sixth Form

Year 12 Psychology students are looking at research methods.  Today there was a tasty 'sampling' exercise!

They are learning about sampling - how psychologists select participants for research and at the same time sampling Smarties!  To help them understand the different techniques used, we do 'sampling with Smarties'. The box of Smarties represents each participant that can be selected for sample (the target population). The girls used the Smarties and worked through a series of tasks to help them calculate how far each sampling technique represented the target population!
