A group of nineteen Year 11 and 12 students have just returned from working at the Ricoh Women’s British Open Golf Championship at Kingsbarns, near St Andrews.
Based in a university halls of residence, they were at the course ready to start work at 9.00am every morning. After a brief induction, they were given the responsibility for manning leaderboards around the course and the media centre and carrying scoreboards alongside groups of players.

The event gave the students an opportunity to experience life in a university environment and gain valuable work experience, alongside earning some holiday money. So many people involved with the tournament commented on their fantastic behaviour and reliability. We were very proud of them. Massive thanks to all staff involved for giving up their own time during the summer holidays.

Last year our students were invited to have the same responsibilities at the Open Golf which was held at Woburn. We hope to be back with them again at Royal Lytham & St. Anne's next year!
