Senior students demonstrate superb performance skills.
Thornton’s Expressive Arts Studio provided an intimate environment for a special concert in which Senior students performed a variety of prose and verse pieces in front of families and friends.
The girls who take co-curricular Speech and Drama lessons throughout the year had been rehearsing hard for the event. They demonstrated their communication and dramatic skills with ease and sophistication, some reciting extracts from novels by popular authors such as Roald Dahl and Sophie McKenzie, others turning to text from William Shakespeare.
Miss Shrimpton, one of our Speech and Drama teachers, said: ‘We had fantastic dynamic and strong performances from the Senior girls who performed monologues and duologues. Huge congratulations to all who took part. This concert was the culmination of some of their LAMDA exam pieces and pieces they’ve been wanting to perform – all chosen by the students.’
