Pre-Prep students start string playing lessons.

The girls in Reception and Year 1 who have signed up for group cello lessons until the end of term were as keen as mustard to get their hands on a quarter size cello today.

Peripatetic teachers, Mrs Scurr and Mrs Tollervey, introduced them to the instrument with a cutesy song, encouraging them to sit in the right position with their feet flat on the floor while keeping the scroll up high and seesawing with their elbows.

While the girls became more familiar with plucking the cello’s four strings, they learnt a special password to help them remember A, D, G and C – All Dancers Go Crazy.

They’ll only be able to get in and out of cello group if they are able to recall this password next week..!
