High-scoring students prepare to showcase their speech and drama talents.
Happy days for the students who take co-curricular Speech and Drama lessons at Thornton. Still flushed with success from their latest London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) exams – three Merits and 18 Distinctions no less – the girls are now stepping up preparations for their Senior (15th June) and Prep (29th June) concerts.
We have an unprecedented number of students enrolled in these co-curricular classes. They take at least one examination every academic year in which they are tested on their clarity, rhythmical awareness and the way they communicate a sense of the written word in a poem or book.
These girls will be performing some of their set dramatic pieces and poetry and prose recitals in front of family and friends – a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate their communication skills and burgeoning self-confidence.
