Tyrell House stages USA-themed dress down day for charity.
Fantastic to see the school community get behind Tyrell House for Thornton’s Trinity term fundraiser. We looked to the USA for an overarching theme with staff and students given licence to come to school (for a donation) dressed as a character or larger-than-life personality from across the pond.
Disney film stars, Wild West cowgirls, Hollywood movie stars, Elvis, Donald Trump – we had them all.
At Little Break, students had the chance to buy cakes and milkshakes, while at lunch-time competitions to win a Domino’s Pizza voucher, a large Minnie Mouse cuddly toy and a jar of sweeties pulled in more pennies to help the great charities we are supporting this year.
All profits from the day will go towards local charity, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and Thornton's overseas Jesus and Mary communities.
