Years 3 and 4 dance through the decades.
A new term and a new Creative Curriculum subject for Years 3 and 4: Cool Britannia. This week, the girls leapt straight into the topic by dressing in clothes from the 1960s through to the 1990s – anything and everything from neon-pink leg warmers to the flamboyant frills associated with New Romanticism.
With students appropriately attired and fully embracing the pre-Noughties eras, Miss Harris put them through their paces by teaching them a collection of choreographed dances, beginning with Twist and Shout from the 1960s and moving onto the 1970’s classic YMCA.
Nicely warmed up, she proceeded to direct them through Michael Jackson’s Thriller (lots of dramatic zombie-type moves) before finishing with a routine for Spice Girl favourite, Stop.
