Reception class takes a closer look at the animals dear to their hearts.
Since embarking on the theme of pets, which will run the course of this half-term, Reception girls have been enjoying lots of animal-related learning.
So far, activities have included setting up a mini pet shop in the corner of the classroom and reading The Great Pet Sale, a humorous picture book by Mick Inkpen.
In addition, the girls have enjoyed painting freestyle pictures of cats and rabbits, with many of them drawing inspiration from photographs of their own pets at home. Approaching art from another direction, Mrs Thomas has also taken them to the school Computer Room to draw other animal pictures using the Paint programme.
They are now looking forward to venturing out into the grounds to build homes for mini beasts and they are starting to prepare for the Reception class family assembly, naturally based around pets, in May.
