Year 11 students bring their theme of entertainment to life with some classroom singing.
Our French GCSE students are currently finding out about French entertainment which, this week, touched upon music. To make it more real for the girls, Mrs Ferreira-Thornton introduced a pop song called On écrit sur les murs (We write on the walls).
What is so special about the song is that it’s sung by Kids United, a group created by UNICEF. The six singers, aged from eight to 15, represent the most beautiful voices in their country. They all have French nationality but diverse origins.
Our students watched the video and listened and sung along to the song about tolerance and integration. They each translated a line of the chorus and shared their understanding of the words with their peers. This was followed by a reading comprehension on the different members of the group.
