Senior School Assembly Senior School

Senior School assembly focuses on grudges and forgiveness.

We invited Milton Keynes Bridgebuilder Trust to front the Senior School assembly this morning. Unpacking the theme of forgiveness and grudges, it began with a fun exercise. How many Cadbury Creme Eggs could one of our Year 7s hold in her hands while simultaneously trying to put a marshmallow into her mouth?

Just as it’s difficult to reach for a sweet treat while holding onto more than a dozen chocolate eggs, the game served to illustrate that when we hold onto grudges, we are stopped from doing other things. Only forgiveness can set us free and afford us a fresh start.

There are 86,400 seconds in a day. The finishing note was to say to Thornton students: don’t waste a single second bearing resentment. To move on, it’s important to let go.
