Our STEAM evening last night was a huge success. Not only were students able to discuss career opportunities with representatives from world leading science and medical, technology and engineering based companies, they were inspired to pursue careers related to what they love doing.
We welcomed representatives from the following companies: Aecom, BHR Group, Nissan, MEC development engineers, Renault Motor Sport, ICAEW Chartered Accountant, Laserlines, Jaguar Landrover, Siemens, Network Rail, Leica Geosystems, Unilever, Royal Airforce, GPE, N & B Engineering, Milton Keynes Veterinary Group, Seawatch and Elevations Design.
"Do what you really enjoy doing and keep doing it - that's the best careers advice I can give." Professor Monica Grady CBE, Space Scientist
Professor Grady worked on both the Beagle 2 and Rosetta space missions.
Students were able to find out exactly what different jobs actually involved on a day-to-day basis. They learnt that there were so many opportunities to be employed doing something that they enjoy or excel at than they could have imagined! Most companies brought products with them and showed visitors what they could do and how they were built.
We welcomed back Mrs Angela Brady OBE, architect and former president of the Royal Institute of British Architects, as an additional speaker.
