Year 11s put their sports leadership skills to the final test.
The Year 11 year group is coming to the end of the Level 1 Sports Leadership qualification. The climax of two years’ preparation, the girls have been working towards the nationally-recognised certificate in PE classes since Year 9. Over that period, they’ve learnt how to communicate clearly to a group and organise team-based, fitness-related activities.
The final hurdle is to work in pairs and demonstrate how proficient they have become in leading Prep School pupils in a sports session for at least 60 minutes. Over the course of this week, the girls have been working with Year 5s and 6s and demonstrating how they bring out the best in pupils and how well they can issue instructions and offer encouragement through football and netball-based games.
