Thornton College places third in county show jumping competition.

The school’s equestrian team had a successful day on Saturday at the National School Equestrian Association’s (NSEA) County Show Jumping Qualifier.

Looking super in their Thornton kit, the girls came third overall in the dressage competition. In the jumping, we took first and second place with both the Thornton teams in the 50cm. Year 5’s Zara won the overall individual!

In the 60cm outdoor arena show jumping competition, Thornton came sixth as a team and Zara came fifth individually. In the 70cm, Anna (Year 5) did a super double clear on her pony Pinkie for Thornton.

The girls are now looking forward to the regional finals at Bury Farm Equestrian Village next Saturday (19th November) where the team has qualified in the 40cm, 50cm and 60cm. Going forward, the girls will also be competing at the Bucks County Dressage in April 2017 and the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May 2017.
