American Election candidates debate on the quad!

140 million Americans will be voting for the leader of the free world today... Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton and Thornton's Government & Politics Department has recreated the American election experience for the Thornton community.

All forms from Reception through to Year 12, staff and parents will be given the opportunity to vote Democrat or Republican. Each form will represent a state, with larger forms representing those states with more weight.  

There will be a special debate in The Assembly Hall at lunchtime. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have taken time out of their busy election schedules to visit Thornton College. They and their teams will debate the finer points of American Policy at 12.45. All staff and students are welcome.

CNN and BBC News will play throughout the day in reception giving up-to-date news on the election. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to see the results as they come in.
