Year 1 students delve into the world of Beatrix Potter.
In the Pre-Prep department, students are working through a topic called ‘Let’s Celebrate’ in their Creative Curriculum classes. This half-term, they’re celebrating the life and times of famous people, beginning with Beatrix Potter, best known for her children's books featuring animals.
This week, the girls have been drawing the writer and illustrator’s most famous characters – Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck and Mr Jeremy Fisher among them.
Since the beginning of the new term, the girls have also learnt how much Beatrix Potter loved nature and enjoyed studying the animals around her, and how she lived and made up stories in a little studio in the Lake District.
