Reception girls stage a mini violin concert.
The girls in Reception who have recently opted to pursue violin lessons with peripatetic teacher Mrs Judge on Thursday afternoons have been as keen as mustard to show off their new musical skills.
They seized the opportunity to put on a mini concert for their friends and families today. They demonstrated how to hold the instrument correctly and use the bow. They also, very cleverly, identified the difference between the four violin strings, naming them after animals to help them remember – Elephant is the E string, for example, and Gorilla the G.
The audience gave the girls some well-deserved applause after listening to them play a selection of newly-learnt tunes with tremendous flourish and satisfaction.
