Year 6 students extend their vocabulary with a dictionary-themed game.
The girls at the top end of the Prep School regularly engage in dictionary work in their Literacy lessons to check the spelling and meaning of words but also to acquaint themselves with new terminology.
This week, the students extended their range of vocabulary with a fun and interactive challenge. Mrs Hall asked each child to choose a word from the dictionary and not only write down its correct definition but fabricate two other (wrong) meanings. As they presented words ranging from fop to impede, maladjust and witticism their classmates had to figure out what they meant with points awarded for the correct answers.
