The Friends of Thornton host an al fresco evening of live music and dancing.
With the evening shaping up to be warm and clear, the Friends of Thornton made an inspired decision to take their hoedown out to the quad for some lively family fun this half-term. The hay bales, kindly provided by Mrs Hulbert, set the scene for some superb music and dancing – ’til sundown and beyond!
Thornton pupils with their families, boarders with their ‘second families’ and staff spent an exhilarating three hours reeling and do-si-do-ing to a live folk band.
As the fiddlers fiddled and the hog roast sizzled, the crowd learnt a new repertoire of arm-tangling-foot-stomping moves. Many thanks to all the parents, staff and Sisters who joined us.
The next event in the Friends of Thornton social calendar is the Thornton Fête on Sunday 19th June, 2pm-5pm. We promise a fantastic afternoon of entertainment at one of the UK’s largest (and best) traditional country fêtes.
