Maya J lands second big gig as young film reporter.

Maya J is getting a taste for interviewing movie superstars with her second big gig in six months as a Young Reporter for film education charity, Into Film.

The 14-year-old film aficionado had the opportunity of a lifetime last October when she was invited to attend the Royal Premiere of James Bond film, Spectre, and interview 007 actor Daniel Craig on the red carpet outside London’s Royal Albert Hall.

She can now add the stellar cast of new movie The Huntsman: Winter’s War to her interviewee portfolio. After a preview screening in London’s Leicester Square earlier this month, Maya had face-to-face time with Chris Hemsworth (of Thor fame in the Marvel films) and Golden Globe Award winner Emily Blunt, plus comedians Rob Brydon and Nick Frost.

‘They were all really approachable,’ she says, ‘but I had a really good time with Emily in particular. She was the last person I interviewed so I was a lot more relaxed by then. We discussed the magical powers we would like to have and ended up talking about pizza and cookies like two regular people!’

The Year 10 student has been working as a Young Reporter for Into Film since September 2015 after winning one of only 35 places on the film education charity’s annual Young Reporters Programme. You can see her latest interview on the Get Into Film YouTube channel:
