Thornton’s musical ensembles and orchestras give stand-out performances at Milton Keynes Music Festival.
Congratulations must go to Thornton’s musicians who competed so admirably at Milton Keynes’ largest and longest running performing arts platform for amateur performers, now in its 48th year.
Our 13 years and under orchestra came out with all guns blazing at the event to win a silver medal in a very strong class of six. Year 6 student Lucy B earned singular praise by the adjudicator for her strong cello playing.
The Senior School orchestra came a creditable third in the 18 years and under category while the string quartet and the flute quartet both received commended certificates. The school’s cello ensemble also triumphed on stage by achieving a distinction and placing third.
