Valentines-themed dress-down day supports local and international charitable good causes.
We’ve now counted all the pennies from our most recent fundraising day and are proud to announce that the school has raised one of its biggest sums to date for the local branch of Brain Tumour Research, plus Jesus and Mary convents in Lebanon and Pakistan.
Just before February half-term, Ingleton House organised a Valentines-themed fun day, collecting an amazing £1,018 from raffles, cake sales, pink-themed purchases and donations by staff and pupils dressed head to toe in pink or red.
In addition, the school community worked together to make a giant ‘heart of coins’ from thousands of coppers and loose change, upping the total by a further £773. The girls in Mrs Holmes form alone collected a grand total of 4,322 coins in less than a week with Jess L single-handedly bringing in 2,000 coins. (They received a prize of edible goodies for their efforts.)
What an achievement, and thanks go to our pupils and their families for such generous support!
