Year 7s study the Black Death

In History, Year 7s have been studying Medieval Realms. One of the topics has been the beastly Black Death. Beyond the plague's horror story, the students have looked at the effect this event had on the lives of individuals who were lucky enough to survive and how it led to people questioning their position in society and challenging the class system.

The girls also headed to Warwick Castle to consolidate their studies. Their day included a terrifying but entertaining trip down into the depths of the dungeons and an interesting talk about the different roles of men and women; the men preparing to go to battle and a 12-year-old girl looking for a husband, for example. They also saw the falconer release his birds of prey and watched a live Horrible Histories show about the importance of Warwick Castle.
