Food at Thornton is provided by a professional catering company called Sodexho and we have our own team.  Pete the Chef, Paul, Alan, Chris, Nora and Phil create wonderful food for us.

Menus run in three week cycles and Pete adjusts the menu every cycle to reflect the popularity of the dishes.  Menus for the week ahead are always on display outside the dining room.

At breakfast we have a selection of cereals and toast, as well as either croissants, boiled eggs, rolls, bagels or crumpets. On Sundays there is a late brunch at 10:00am after Mass.

For lunch we have a choice of hot or cold dishes and home made soup and puddings.  Fresh fruit and salads are always available. 

Sample lunch menu: Freshly baked Turkey and Ham Pie OR Feta Cheese and Pesto Risotto served with minted new potatoes, fresh sautéed leeks and whole green beans OR jacket potato with prawns.

At supper time we assist the catering staff in serving the food to everyone.. 

Sample suppermenu: Pasta Bar with Carbonara or Tomato and Basil sauce and a mixed leaf salad. 

Tea, coffee and fruit juice are served at breakfast and at supper as well.
